ACTING WORKSHOP

BI-WEEKLY WRITING SALON 
with LISA LOOP

Bring your story ideas, scripts in development, rough drafts, and polished pieces to this bi-weekly salon. In this salon, you will have structured writing time, direct feedback on your script, supportive critique by peers and specific direction to make your story powerful and compelling.

Lisa will work with you to overcome the challenges in your script and give you tools to work independently and efficiently.

Dates: January – March, 2nd and 4th Tuesdays
Times: 7pm – 9pm
Location: Shoreline Community College
Cost: $325

Lisa Loop graduated from Coaches Training Institute and was certified as CPCC by the International Coaching Federation.

In addition to coaching individuals, she facilitates writing workshops, is working on a book about overcoming writer’s block, and is co-writing and co-producing a post-urban romantic comedy.

Her work background includes Hollywood story editor, co-founder of a copy writing firm, story analyst/writer/editor, and assorted freelance jobs in film, interior design, and advertising. Her work has appeared in national theatrical marketing campaigns, online ‘zines, and trade publications.  She started out doing Public Affairs for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, where she learned the hard way how to spell the word Satellite.

NEW MEDIA WORKSHOP

CREATE POWERFUL FILMS USING YOUR IPHONE

In this weekend workshop Joseph Assi will teach you how to make a powerful film using the technology in your back pocket …your iPhone.  No longer are filmmaker beholden to expensive equipment and lengthly production schedules. Utilizing current technology now allows filmmakers to tell their story and share it with the world with virtually little to no budgets.

Join us for a weekend workshop on January 14th and 15th, as he explores the power of “Framing and Composition”, the “Time-Space Continuum” and practical tools to utilize accessible technology such as your iPhone to create powerful films. This class will also cover topics in sound and music for film, utilizing available light, and understanding new models of digital distribution.

HOLLYWOOD SHOWRUNNER

ANDREW CHAPMAN

TV BIZ WORKSHOP  – “WRITE YOUR PILOT”

Amazon, Netflix, HBO and countless other distribution companies are looking for the next great pilot.  In this class Andrew Chapman will teach you how to write a pilot that will get noticed.  In this three-day workshop he will teach you the skills and techniques to turn your story idea into a quality script and take the script you have to the next professional level.

Saturday, Feb 13th 10am – 5pm

Andrew started as a staff writer for Disney Animation.  He has since written on projects for studios including Disney, Fox, Universal, Warner Brothers and Sony. He wrote and directed a feature film, Stand Off, starring Dennis Haysbert and Robert Sean Leonard.

Andrew has sold pilots to ABC, Fox, Amazon, ABC Family, and Sony. In 2014 he wrote and produced an eight part limited series for ABC called The Assets, and this year wrote on and co-executive produced the second season of the spy show Legends for TNT.

Administrative Intern
TheFilmSchool seeks a qualified individual to intern with TheFilmSchool in our office 10 hours a week.  This person will assist the Production Manager and Development Manager with administrative tasks including, data entry, mailings, social media and more! Those with an interest in production may have an opportunity to be involved with productions as they happen including coordinating shoots and assisting on set.
We are looking for someone to make a 4 month commitment with the possibility of staying longer.  Ideally, this internship will be scheduled two days a week.  Please send a resume and brief description of your interest in working with TheFilmSchool to Stephen Anunson.  stephen@thefilmschool.com
