2009 Oscar Night Celebration
On Sunday, February 22, TheFilmSchool hosted the most exciting new Oscars Party
in Seattle and it was definitely the place for the chic of Seattle to be seen.
Held at the hip Pravda Studios on Capitol Hill, the event went all out in recreating
the Oscars experience. Upon arrival, guests were swarmed by paparazzi on the red
carpet before making their way upstairs to the dining area lined with plasma screens
for a nearly large-as-life viewing of the 81st Academy Awards Ceremony.

Adding to the variety of the evening was the live auction called during commercial
breaks by Evening Magazine host John Curley. A pre-show jazz band, silent auction and
fabulous sit-down dinner rounded out an evening of celebrating quality in film and
the art of living.
The event coincided with TheFilmSchool’s fifth year of elevating the
art of storytelling, and went a long way toward raising funds for the program’s
upcoming state-of-the-art permanent space with the Seattle International Film
Festival in the city’s historic Seattle Center.
TheFilmSchool thanks everyone for
their support and looks forward to another don’t-miss-it Oscars event in 2010!
